Funny...

I was watching tv when I saw someone familiar! It was this yakult advertisement where they have this "researcher" wearing the usual white lab coat and explaining the benefits of drinking yakult. Yeah, maybe its just my eyes playing tricks on me but I'm pretty sure the "researcher" was Cheryl Fung! Yes yes! I'm pretty sure it was! Even though they dubbed over her voice (is that what its called?), the person really resembled cheryl fung!

Oh for those of you who added me on the Tagged thingy, you can go ahead and delete me from your list cause I deleted my account... I found out I had made a mistake in the gender department... and I couldnt change it... so yeah.... bah....

Wheeee!

Its a public holiday!!!! And its also someones birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOANNE!

So many reasons to be happy today! Even the haze is slowly, but steadily, going away! Yay for nice clear blue skies!

bangbangbang. who's dead?

yay. the last five posts were all from different people: dgy, denise, fatliang, plock and ronwashere! more people are blogging. yay!
anyway, i'm feeling happy now cuz i just caught the departed (which is way superubercool. the plot's as taut and tight as a rabbit's ass. go catch it. the movie, i mean.. if you haven't..) and i don't need to book in tomorrow. and the day after that. and the day after! yay!
weell, since i don't have much to do when i'm at home, i've uploaded more pics onto the multiply account. there's one album featuring ben, another featuring daryl, and the most recent one that features all of us in group shots.
anyway, to daryl:
'the free hugs campaign is really sweet!'- ??? does this mean you're open to or for hugs these days? haha. and i think when i was in vancouver last year, i saw this guy on the streets who sold hugs. as in it was a variation to just plain begging or basking- you donate some money and you get a hug. i think my sis donated but declined the hug. haha. i think i prefer the aussies to the canadians.
i don't know what else to say now. haha. ok i'm starting to feel sleepy. about time. goodnight everyone! (even though you might be reading this in the afternoon/morning/evening.. hm. haha. read it again at night then) take care and God bless! Goodnight!

More stuff

The Free Hugs campaign video thing really is very sweet! I wonder whether something like that would ever take off in Singapore. I think people would just stare. Anyway, once you are done watching that you can watch this!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rg7Dl7n8bY

Its pretty funny! Well, some parts are. If only the same kind of thing happened in NUS too. Don't think med students are crazy enough to write that kind of feedback though......except for wei liang...

Stuff

I was randomly blog surfing when I came across this video about a Free Hugs Campaign. I hope
it makes you smile. =)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vr3x_RRJdd4

I also came across the class of '06 2SA3's blog which had some funny Math jokes. Take a
look:

http://sa3-ac2006.blogspot.com/2006/08/15-august-2006-math-frenzy.html

BTW, the multiply account actually has stuff in it now... so go, look and contribute! Ask Nick, Marc or myself for the username/password.
And I really hope this uploads 'coz my com is messing up.

MAD MED!

So why isn't the first letter of my name capitalised huh daryl??

Well I was just thinking that I'd give the readers here a peek into life in Med school. It's fun... hard work at times, but fun. The people you meet here are quite something.

Ok so this isn't exactly Med school, but... it doesn't matter!

This is D&D, you may not know them... but I think you can guess who they're trying to be.

Long, LONG symposium.

Well, doesn't this look familar?

This was today during our Problem Based Learning (PBL) session, Daryl's gingerly trying to show masectomy. He quickly put the fake breast down.

On the other hand... some of our other group members were having way more fun with it.

=b We also had 3 silicon breast models to feel for lumps, and Daryl REFUSED to go anywhere near them, while the other guys in our group happily prodded them and stood in a line rubbing their own chests. It was quite a sight.

Oh! And the guy in the last picture- Shawn- told us a couple of jokes today. If you don't get them, you know you aren't a Med student haha.

1. When do you see a big toe in the sky?

2. What muscle gets very developed when you eat a lot of vegetables? (Scroll down for the answers)

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

1. When you're hallucinating

2. The plantaris

=D I'm thinking of compiling all the jokes I hear. Anyone got any others besides Ben's ABO one?
Cheers!

Gah

I never really expected University to be so fast; the thing that makes it so different from JC is that, while JC was fast, it was really intense, while University seems only to be skimming the surface, in more ways than one.

Just want to encourage all of you Medicine students, I think it's been very difficult.

And those in NS, take care too.

This coming from me, haha.

Oh dear...

Things are starting to move much faster now. Lessons seem to be just whizzing by and already we are starting to study the thorax! And for a while there I thought I was doing fine. Now I realise I am super far behind! I have been studying but just not fast enough and today denise reminded me that we only have abt 1.5 months left before our CA and I am still at lower limb! Oh no! And that is just for anatomy! Let's not even mention physiology, much less biochem.

I hate biochem! It is so dry and requires so much memorisation! Sigh. Oh, I have realised that whenever I write anything nowadays, I always do not use capital 'I's and write very informally. So now I am making a conscience effort to write properly, so that in the future when I write anything, like my essays during exams, I will not be too informal. It really is quite draining...

...sad...

Im bored....waiting for 10.30 to come so i can watch project runway...hopefully i wont be too tired tmr even though im staying up 30mins past my optimum bedtime... Missed it last week cause i was watching inuyasha on central...bah... cant believe i missed the first episode...

Anyway, i just recently bought my bus concession so i can take as many buses as i want though im guessing i will only be taking bus to and fro from school... Yeah... but i found out that in order to get my money's worth ($52), i MUST take the bus for between 18.5-23.5 stations (whatever that means... how do u get 0.5 of a station??) and it MUST be an air-conditioned bus... unfortunately 151 buses arent all air-conditioned... so i usually wait for one which is... like today i let two 151 buses pass me by cause they werent.... haha... thankfully it wasnt so hazy today as it was yesterday or i would have choked to death....

The haze is really horrible! Yesterday the haze was really like a HUGE suffocating blanket... walking around really made me feel sick... and my eyes were actually stinging today though that may not be cause of the haze... but anyway... DARN YOU FOREST FIRES! Seems to be getting worse every year! I just watched something quite gross on AFC... (funny how disgusting food channels can be)... the guy was cooking rabbit (wrapped in foil and banana leaves) using dried COW PATS! Made me quite sick...both because it was rabbit and the fact that the fuel was animal waste (im just not used to it)... dont know why i torture myself like this.... maybe watching more AFC will make me so put off food that i will start eating less.... maybe....

Would you dance with me

Yay new blog, though I hate blogspot haha. Have to go book in soon =( Do post up more pics, so far we only have 'seeing kai rui off' How about seeing Jish off and seeing YunXin off. Wonder if anyone will send me off to sungei gedong, we can have a nice farewell party every week in front of the camp with lots of photo takings and all. And you can see Nick off too. Though I think the guards will get suspicious with all those photo takings. I think better not.

I feel like learning ballroom dancing. Oh and I want to have an overseas trip after I ORD which is sometime next Nov. We can travel down to bali or something. I'm sure plock would know. Can all the medicine people pon lectures for a week or so? haha.

Oh and update the links part on the right. YunXin has a blog go find it... As well as update where everyone is e.g. what course and where. Then easier to track people down heh.
