daryl's haikus

i couldn't sleep so i messaged daryl. his reply:

if you cannot sleep,
then you ought to count some sheep,
snores should follow soon.

and some others:

when you eat some rice,
it goes into your stomach
and then it goes POOP...

and

if you are driving,
make sure you able to see,
or else car go BANG!

Parking

Okay, its been 2 days since my extremely horrible parking experience so ive pretty much cooled down so it wont be much of a rant....more of a whiney complaint of what a pitiful little thing i am.... for those of u who werent there for scone lunch on national day here's what happened.... its pretty long so if u dont have time dont bother....heh...

Well yeah as most of u know, we had a scone lunch at waraku on national day and the day started out pretty much fine for me. I was allowed to take the car to go to marina square (though this turned out to be the start of all my problems) so i left the house at around 1250...i got a little lost (all cause of the darn detours put up and also cause i took the wrong route....heh)...but thats fine...still arrived at marina square at around 1.20pm.... but when i got in the car park i almost DIED! There was absolutely no parking space! Once again its all cause of NDP being held near there. I dont think i'd be exaggerating if i said abt 1/3 of the car park was cordoned off for NDP ppl or whatever and another 1/5 is reserved for pan pacific hotel guests! The ridiculous part was...both of these sections were pretty much empty! So i was really very very peeved with the whole set up....

Another thing which got me irritated were the police and army personnel (though im not sure if the latter had much choice)! There were areas allocated to police vehicles and NDP vehicles (so i assume that army personnel should also be allowed to park in the specified areas). Yet i saw at least 5 police cars and 2 cars belonging to army ppl (saw them carrying stuff out of it) parked in non-allocated areas! Whats up with that! and it wasnt like the allocated areas were full! How could they take up a space which could have possibly been mine!!! Absolutely terrible and inconsiderate....And i still dont see why they needed so much space for NDP ppl....it was still rather empty when we left.....it just shows how kiasu they are (or how kiasu they think ppl are wanting to go to the parade 5 hours earlier)....

Anyway to cut a long story short, i drove around in the carpark for about 1hr, was really pissed with the NDP ppl and they're stupid red and white tape (and its not red and white cause its national day...its just regular construction site tape), got really irritated with the car park assistant (though thats most likely just a side effect of driving around a carpark without finding a space for 1hr), got even angrier when i saw tonnes of ppl dressed in red getting out of their parked cars smiling at me, screamed and shouted in the car half of the time, shook my fists (secretly) at ppl who i felt took my rightful space (though one or two very obviously did steal my lot! GRRR!), oh and i crashed my car into a bend while i was blinded by rage (and talking to nick on the phone)... but yeah in the end nick saved me by coming down to the carpark (i was going to leave cause everyone had finished eating) and asking the car wax and polish ppl to let me park in one of their lots for free (heh...should have thought of that earlier)! Yeah so thats pretty much it...

I dont know why there's so much road rage....i would think carpark rage would be so much more common...

AUG SCONE GATHERING

Hi all!! I just felt that this should be on the blog too!! There's a SCONE National Day gathering!!! (I wonder why nobody posted this up yet btw...) Anyway, here are the details....

Venue: Waraku

Time: 1315h

Date: 9th Aug 07

Yup, from the latest i heard, its at Waraku, which is the Japanese restaurant beside Marina Square. We went there the last time for idunnowhat occasion. For those who dunno the way there, alight at City Hall mrt and head towards Marina Square. Keep an eye out and u shld see it. If u get lost along the way, call goei or anyone else u know is going. Otherwise, just TOO BAD... go roam the streets till u find it. bwahaha....
I just realised that i can't make it but i'll prolly be able to pop by to say hi and haunt wei liang about my blazer! bah!! Its been 1 1/2 years since i last saw it. *sob* Oh...nearly forgot. Goei's planning it so if u read this, want to go but haven't told anyone, GO VOICE IT OUT TO DARYL!! Do that as early as possible to aid in booking purposes. yup... thanks and Happy National Day!! (its happy mainly for the hols and fireworks...heh....) =p

Driving

I just got back from KL yesterday night! And i drove there and halfway back! 500km total i think! Driving wasnt as fun as i had thought it would be, but i guess even driving at 110+km/h gets kind of boring 3-4hrs of driving.... Anyway stopped by in Melaka for lunch at this coffee shop: And it just happened to be called Jonker satay...heh...but yeah, the satay was really very good and the sauce was excellent too! And they had a pretty interesting concept. They charge per stick and they just keep topping up the satay on ur plate until u say u dont want anymore or if they see u havent finished...yeah bad thing abt it is u just keep eating....Its a pity that most of malaysia is filthy...cause they really have very good food especially the roadside stalls (which happen to be especially dirty too)! Oh in KL there's a restaurant in Equatorial Hotel called The Chalet! And they have fondue! Not only the cheese one but seafood (cooked in broth) and beef (cooked in oil) too! There used to be one in singapore at Ladyhill and i used to go there so often....until it closed down....sigh.....
Oh and i took this photo in the hotel! Haha!

Who knew that Lif was lift in malay! heh....anyway back to driving....I CANT STAND IMPATIENT DRIVERS!!! Especially when driving on the expressway! I was driving at 110-130km/h on a 110km/h road.....but some ppl just insist on driving even faster and following super close behind! So i refused to move from my lane! Hmph! I really think they need to install horns at the rear of the car. Then u can honk at ppl behind if they get too close! And if someone behind u honks for no reason u can honk back at them and not make the person in front think u r honking at them! Yeah... i really cant wait to be rid of my P-plate cause i think ppl just see the plate and think they can do anything to u....bah....
