Parking

Okay, its been 2 days since my extremely horrible parking experience so ive pretty much cooled down so it wont be much of a rant....more of a whiney complaint of what a pitiful little thing i am.... for those of u who werent there for scone lunch on national day here's what happened.... its pretty long so if u dont have time dont bother....heh...

Well yeah as most of u know, we had a scone lunch at waraku on national day and the day started out pretty much fine for me. I was allowed to take the car to go to marina square (though this turned out to be the start of all my problems) so i left the house at around 1250...i got a little lost (all cause of the darn detours put up and also cause i took the wrong route....heh)...but thats fine...still arrived at marina square at around 1.20pm.... but when i got in the car park i almost DIED! There was absolutely no parking space! Once again its all cause of NDP being held near there. I dont think i'd be exaggerating if i said abt 1/3 of the car park was cordoned off for NDP ppl or whatever and another 1/5 is reserved for pan pacific hotel guests! The ridiculous part was...both of these sections were pretty much empty! So i was really very very peeved with the whole set up....

Another thing which got me irritated were the police and army personnel (though im not sure if the latter had much choice)! There were areas allocated to police vehicles and NDP vehicles (so i assume that army personnel should also be allowed to park in the specified areas). Yet i saw at least 5 police cars and 2 cars belonging to army ppl (saw them carrying stuff out of it) parked in non-allocated areas! Whats up with that! and it wasnt like the allocated areas were full! How could they take up a space which could have possibly been mine!!! Absolutely terrible and inconsiderate....And i still dont see why they needed so much space for NDP ppl....it was still rather empty when we left.....it just shows how kiasu they are (or how kiasu they think ppl are wanting to go to the parade 5 hours earlier)....

Anyway to cut a long story short, i drove around in the carpark for about 1hr, was really pissed with the NDP ppl and they're stupid red and white tape (and its not red and white cause its national day...its just regular construction site tape), got really irritated with the car park assistant (though thats most likely just a side effect of driving around a carpark without finding a space for 1hr), got even angrier when i saw tonnes of ppl dressed in red getting out of their parked cars smiling at me, screamed and shouted in the car half of the time, shook my fists (secretly) at ppl who i felt took my rightful space (though one or two very obviously did steal my lot! GRRR!), oh and i crashed my car into a bend while i was blinded by rage (and talking to nick on the phone)... but yeah in the end nick saved me by coming down to the carpark (i was going to leave cause everyone had finished eating) and asking the car wax and polish ppl to let me park in one of their lots for free (heh...should have thought of that earlier)! Yeah so thats pretty much it...

I dont know why there's so much road rage....i would think carpark rage would be so much more common...
